Our Facilities
The nursery is divided into 3 main areas (rooms) to cater for the different age groups of the children with the appropriate staff-child ratios and a large fully enclosed garden outside for the children to play. We also have an out of school club where the children can prepare to go to school or join in fun activities after school or during the school holidays. Additionally, we have a sensory area, kitchen, children’s toilets, buggy store etc.
Baby Room
This is the room for babies aged 6 weeks to 2 years, with a minimum of 1 carer for every 3 babies. In our care, your baby will receive lots of cuddles and attention whenever needed and will have a key worker who will record his/her developmental milestones and progress according to the EYFS guidelines.
Your baby will also have an individual care plan that follows his/her routine at home as closely as possible and have a soft cosy/cot area to rest. We have toys which are developmentally appropriate and all babies can have access to the garden and go for pushchair walks.
As well as this, they have opportunities for new experiences like craft, painting, music, singing, stories and much more.
Toddler Room
This is the room for toddlers aged 2-3 years, where the staff-child ratio is 1:4, with each toddler having his/her own key worker who records his/her developmental milestones and progress according to the EYFS guidelines.
In this room, we follow a Rhythm of the Day which is a routine adopted specially for toddlers and is softer than a structured routine which gives children an insight into the chain of events of the day. The children daily access the vast outside area taking their play and learning outdoors. The toddlers have a range of activities and experiences of learning through play and these are changed and rotated and catered for by the children’s interests.
In the toddler room, we have 4 main areas:
- Sensory area: sand, water, gloup, playdough
- Cosy area: with books, musical instruments and sensory experiences
- Small world and construction area: blocks, bricks, doll’s house, garage, animals etc.
- Role play area: fully equipped kitchen with real fruits and vegetables to explore, opportunities to dress up or cook together.
Pre-School Room
This bright and spacious room is home to our 3-5 year olds where the staff to child ratio is 1:8. Whilst in the pre-school room, all children will be given a special key worker who will track their development according to the EYFS.
During their time at nursery, the children will take part in various fun activities to promote all areas of their development. Our children are strongly encouraged to have a good level of self-care skills including toileting, dressing and at meal times, to help serve their meals. We have modern equipment to enhance learning including tablets, light boxes and a wide range of exploring and investigating resources to encourage imagination.
Our pre-school room children are given the opportunity to explore the real world and take part in real life experiences by going on trips to the local and wider area which includes attending forest school. The Nursery has good strong relationships with our neighbouring schools, which helps with all children’s transitions to schools.
We invite teachers and parents for regular meetings to discuss the children’s development and to make sure that all our children are school ready by the summer term.
The Garden
Our fantastic garden offers a wide range of fun learning opportunities to extend the children’s interests.
